Jemma grew up with an interest in dance and first studied Dance Performance at Middlesex University gaining a Higher National Diploma, before finding her interest in physiotherapy and qualifying with a first class BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire in 2019. Whilst completing her studying she worked part time as a Rehab Assistant with Neuro Physio Berkhamsted gaining insight and experience in neuro rehab, her particular area of interest.

Jemma went on to work for Buckinghamshire NHS Trust across a variety of settings including the Stroke Unit and Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, treating stroke patients with a variety of complexities as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Next, Jemma took on the role of Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist at the Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Mount Vernon NHS Hospital managing a varied caseload of neurological patients including Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, MS, Spinal Cord Injury, GBS, Parkinson’s and Peripheral Neuropathy. Jemma has gained experience in a multitude of neuro rehabilitation techniques including the use of casting, orthotics and electrical stimulation in line with the latest evidence base.

More recently, Jemma rejoined Neuro Physio Berkhamsted as a Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist in the summer of 2023 and enjoys working in the community helping patients achieve their goals.

Jemma is an active member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology and continues to attend regular lectures to keep up to date with the latest research and further develop her knowledge. She has completed postgraduate courses including Queen’s Square Upper Limb Rehabilitation Programme and is currently completing training with the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute for Matwork Pilates and Neuro Pilates. Additionally, she is qualified in Level 3 Sports Massage.

Outside of work, Jemma enjoys travelling and between jobs has visited Australia, New Zealand and across South East Asia. She likes to keep fit and active by attending the gym as well as doing Pilates and Yoga. She enjoys being outdoors hiking and going on dog walks.
